Example BowTies

On this page you can access example BowTies in an interactive way (n.b. not compatible with Safari)

Heres how it works:

  • Pick the BowTie you would like to look at from the menu on the left hand side of the screen. Each red dot represents a BowTie, the name of the BowTie is derived from it's Hazard/Top Event descriptions (Tip: you can resize the frame by left clicking on the boarder between the two windows and dragging it in order to reveal additional text)
  • Step through the different levels of detail using the green shortcut buttons (1 through 6). The examples show basic BowTies without Escalation Factors
  • Modify the way extra information is displayed (e.g. effectiveness ratings or barrier criticality) using the drop down list that normally shows the word 'default'
  • Zoom in and out using the magnifying glass shortcut buttons
  • Download the BowTie image (as a .png file) using the save icon
