HAPS
We put new aviation tech on a pathway to success
High Altitude Pseudo Satellites or High Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS) are at the forefront of aviation innovation. Operating high into the stratosphere, they have multiple use cases including communications and environmental observation platforms.
Taking such an ambitious concept from idea to the stratosphere is a lengthy and complex process. We’re excited about breaking new boundaries and supporting HAPS developers throughout their journey, from the design stage to getting approval to test and trial, and ultimately to operate.
We help you:
- Understand the regulatory landscape – the art of the possible
- Incorporate regulator hardware requirements into the design
- Create a plan that includes realistic timescales and costs to launch, taking into account local regulatory requirements and approvals
- Produce all the regulatory approvals necessary to fly (including test and trial as well as launch commercially)

“Across Safety has provided excellent continuous support on all regulatory aspects of our vehicle development programme. They have helped us to define a regulatory strategy that matches our long-term global business plans, while simultaneously managing all the detailed regulatory work for our sub-scale vehicle testing. We have been impressed by the ability of Across Safety to navigate the regulatory complexity of developing a high-altitude unmanned airship, which does not normally fit within the existing rules of most countries. We are happy to recommend their services.”
