There is often an abundance of safety data available, but are you getting the most out of it? Understanding what your data is telling you is crucial. It helps you make the right decisions, effectively manage risk and continually improve the way you operate. This 1 day course gives delegates a solid foundation in safety performance monitoring principles and analysis techniques within an organisation’s Safety Management System (SMS). On completion, delegates will be able to identify the right data, correctly analyse it, draw meaningful conclusions and present it effectively.
The course is delivered by Joji Waites who, with over 20 years experience in safety management including four years as head of the UK CAA safety intelligence department, is a leading expert in this field.
The course suits those in positions involving analysis of safety data on a day-to-day basis and is also relevant to those responsible for assuring their organisation’s safety performance at an operational level.
This training course will include the following topics:
1. Critiquing SPIs and safety data presentations
2. Conducting examples of statistical analyses
3. Producing your own safety performance monitoring report
We use a mix of presentations, interactive exercises, case studies and guided workshops to make sure you get the most out of the day.
We only choose training venues that create a positive learning environment: natural light, good food and plenty of tea/coffee.
No previous experience with data manipulation is necessary but an understanding of your Safety Management System would be useful. Delegates need to bring laptops with MS Excel installed and have a basic working knowledge of it.
